Most companies building with AI will need to classify their systems by risk level. High-risk systems need documented testing, human oversight, and transparency reports.

What Actually Changes

If you're building chatbots, recommendation engines, or content generation tools — you're probably in the "limited risk" category. That means disclosure requirements but not much else.

The Gotcha

"General purpose AI" providers (like companies building on top of OpenAI or Anthropic) have new obligations around documentation and transparency that kick in this year.
